- The US visa must be physically present in the passport and valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival in Costa Rica
- Transit visas (C1, C2, C3) do not qualify for this exemption
- Entry is subject to the final decision of the immigration officer at the Juan Santamaria International Airport or other ports of entry
- Travelers must possess a return or onward ticket to exit Costa Rica within the allowed stay period
- Proof of economic solvency may be requested by immigration officials at the border
