All pilgrims traveling for Hajj and Umrah from September 14 will be required to carry a vaccination certificate linked to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra). As per the health minister’s directives, the federal Government Civil Dispensary is the only authorized center for vaccinating international travelers going for Hajj or Umrah. To avoid any inconvenience for pilgrims, all airlines are requested to “strictly inform their travel agents that from now on, only proof of vaccination linked to Nadra will be acceptable for travel”. Saudi Arabia has introduced mandatory Nusuk food vouchers worth around 20 Saudi riyals per day for Umrah pilgrims from four countries, including Pakistan, with the amount to be directly incorporated into the overall Umrah visa fee. The new policy will apply to Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan, India, Egypt and Bangladesh from Rabi-ul-Awwal 1. Under the new system, hotel bookings, transportation, meals and other facilities for Umrah pilgrims are being integrated through a single digital platform. (8/7/2026)
