Application notes

  • For Pakistani ordinary passport holders with no additional valid visas held, a pre-travel Electronic Travel Authorization is mandatory via eta.gov.lk
  • The Tourist ETA is issued free of charge for Pakistani citizens under the forty-country fee waiver scheme effective May twenty-five, twenty-twenty-six via eta.gov.lk
  • Pakistani passport holders are not eligible for Visa on Arrival and must obtain the approved ETA online before boarding via eta.gov.lk
  • The standard online ETA application does not require submitting a CNIC, Family Registration Certificate, employer NOC, or tax documents via eta.gov.lk
  • The Tourist ETA allows a stay of up to thirty days with a double-entry facility permitted from the date of first arrival via eta.gov.lk
  • Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and a confirmed return or onward ticket

Application Process

  1. Step 1

    Access the official Sri Lanka Electronic Travel Authorization portal via eta.gov.lk

  2. Step 2

    Select the preferred language and click on the apply tab to agree to the terms and conditions

  3. Step 3

    Select the option to apply for an individual under the Tourist ETA category via eta.gov.lk

  4. Step 4

    Fill out the online application form with personal, passport, and travel details

  5. Step 5

    Submit the application online without any processing fee under the active fee waiver scheme

  6. Step 6

    Receive the Electronic Travel Authorization approval notice via email via eta.gov.lk

  7. Step 7

    Print the approved ETA notice to present to immigration officers upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport via eta.gov.lk
