Application notes
- Pakistani passport holders are not eligible for Visa on Arrival and must obtain an ETA via eta.gov.lk before departure
- Transit airside for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport may not require an ETA; verify status with your airline or via Timatic via eta.gov.lk
- For layovers between 24 and 48 hours, apply for the free Transit ETA at eta.gov.lk
- For layovers exceeding 48 hours or if exiting the airport landside, apply for the Tourist ETA at eta.gov.lk
- The Tourist ETA for Pakistani nationals is currently issued at zero cost as part of the 40-country scheme effective from 25 May 2026 via eta.gov.lk
- Online ETA applications do not require submission of CNIC, FRC, employer NOC, or FBR tax documents via eta.gov.lk

Step 1
Visit the official portal at eta.gov.lk to initiate the application
Step 2
Select the appropriate ETA category based on your transit duration via eta.gov.lk
Step 3
Enter passport details and travel itinerary information into the online form
Step 4
Submit the application and receive the ETA approval notice via email via eta.gov.lk
Step 5
Print the ETA approval notice to present to immigration officials upon arrival at the airport via eta.gov.lk
