Application notes

  • Pakistani passport holders, including those with a valid Schengen visa, must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via the official portal before travel via eta.gov.lk
  • The Tourist ETA for Pakistani nationals is currently free of charge as of 25 May 2026 via eta.gov.lk
  • The ETA is valid for 30 days and allows for double entry via eta.gov.lk
  • Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official government portal at eta.gov.lk/slvisa
  • Holding a Schengen visa does not provide visa-free entry or exemption from the ETA requirement for Pakistani passport holders via eta.gov.lk
  • Visa-on-arrival is not available for Pakistani ordinary passport holders

    Visit the official Sri Lanka Electronic Travel Authorization portal at eta.gov.lk/slvisa

  2. Step 2

    Select the Tourist ETA option for Pakistani passport holders via eta.gov.lk

  3. Step 3

    Complete the online application form with passport details and travel itinerary

  4. Step 4

    Submit the application and receive the ETA approval notice via email via eta.gov.lk

  5. Step 5

    Print the ETA approval notice to present to immigration officials upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport via eta.gov.lk
