Application notes

  • Pakistani passport holders require a B1/B2 visa for entry; holding a Schengen visa does not grant visa-free access, an expedited pathway, or a waiver to the United States
  • All applicants must complete the DS-160 online nonimmigrant visa application form prior to scheduling an interview
  • Applicants must schedule and attend an in-person interview at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad or the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi
  • The MRV application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable across different applicants or accounts
  • Applicants should apply well in advance of their intended travel date due to extended wait times for interview appointments
  • Proof of strong financial, social, and professional ties to Pakistan is critical to demonstrate intent to return after the visit
